| About Muslim Aid |
Established in 1985 in UK, Muslim Aid is an international NGO seeking to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development programs. We aim to help the needy regardless of race, religion or gender.
The main sectors we are involved in are: Education, Health and Nutrition, Income generation and micro credit, Vocational Training, water and sanitation, Emergency relief, Disaster Response and Preparedness and Orphan Support.
We are working in more than 50 countries around the globe. The core geographical areas of operations are: Pakistan, Kashmir, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Bosnia, Palestine, Indonesia, Chechnya and Kosovo.
Muslim Aid is a member of the British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND) and a signatory to the “Code of Conduct for The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC’s) Movements and NGOs in Disaster Relief” and supports the Make Poverty History Campaigns under Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Muslim
Aid established its office in Pakistan in 2003 and registered as a Trust
under Trust Act 1882. Since its inception the office had successfully
implemented many relief and development projects in the sectors of water
and sanitation, education and vocational training, income generation,
heath and nutrition and disaster response (Floods, earthquake, droughts).
Muslim Aid played an active role in Relief activities in 2005 Earthquake
in addition to development projects spread all over Pakistan now focused
on reconstruction and rehabilitation in Earthquake affected areas of AJK
and NWFP. |
